Through the support and involvement provided by hundreds of member employers in Cayuga County, the Chamber is pursuing an ambitious program of action aimed at building a stronger economy and quality of life for our community. Our program is developed and it’s implementation made possible only through the active participation of dozens of member volunteers who serve on our various Councils, Committees or Task Forces.

Together We Can Make a Difference!

By participating on a Council, Committee or Task Force, our members have an opportunity to work with top business, professional and community leaders, gain sales and public relations experience and receive valuable leadership and management experience while meeting in groups and determining issues and actions of common interest.

We encourage you and/or members of your staff to take part in the Chamber’s efforts on behalf of our area’s business and general community by indicating your Council, Committee or Task Force preference.

COUNCILS- Meet monthly

Ambassadors Council
This council serves as a communication link with current members. Makes personal contact with members and welcomes new members at Chamber events. Welcomes new businesses to the area and recognizes business expansions and relocations through ribbon–cuttings.

Government Affairs Council
Represents the Cayuga County business community on a local, State and Federal issues and legislation and works to keep members informed and involved on key business-related issues.

Leadership Cayuga Council
Oversees annual Leadership Cayuga program, including schedule and content, promotion, selection of students, raising funds for scholarships.- Periodic task groups.

COMMITTEES-Meet monthly or as needed

Member Marketing & Communications
Works to develop short and long-range communications and marketing strategies to assist the Chamber in effectively reaching potential members and to enhance the flow of information about the Chamber and its efforts to the membership and general business community.

Member Benefits Committee
Identifies, researches and recommends products and services that are offered to Chamber members at special rates or discounts to add value to Chamber Membership.

Training & Education Committee
To assist member businesses and other employers in Cayuga County with their staff development and training needs in order to help enhance growth and vitality of our community.

IGNITE
Provides business, social and community resources for young and young thinking professionals, through networking opportunities and exposure; professional development; community awareness and volunteer opportunities; recruitment and retention resources.

TASK FORCES-Meet as needed

Home Expo Task Force
Plans and coordinates the annual Home Expo. Contacts possible exhibitors and sponsors and assists during the event.

Chamber Cup Tournament Task Force
Plans and implements the annual Golf Tournament. Coordinates details, contacts possible sponsors, assists during the event.

Small Business Person of the Year Task Force
Plans Small Business Lunch and selects award recipients. Contacts nominees and nominators to give detail on Luncheon and presentation of award.

Annual Dinner Task Force
Plans and coordinates the Annual Dinner & Silent Auction. Contacts possible sponsors and donators, and assists during the event.
