This Cayuga County Chamber Awards luncheon recognizes business leaders for their outstanding contributions to the economy and overall development of Cayuga County. Including the Community Leadership Award given to a Leadership Cayuga Alumni.
The Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the winners of the 2017 Chamber Awards. These Chamber of Commerce members are being recognized for their unique contributions to the economy and overall development of Cayuga County.
Phyllis Goldman Award recognizes a woman who owns a business (or is a majority owner) and has demonstrated a noteworthy entrepreneurial pursuit. Nominees are owners in for‐profit businesses (within the last seven years) who inspire and mentor other women to do the same. The Phyllis Goldman Encouragement Award is given in honor and memory of Phyllis Goldman, a local business woman. Phyllis inspired women to stretch themselves beyond society’s norms and expectations by following their dreams and hearts as they pursue a career and redirected their life paths. The winner is Susan Riordan.
The Terri Bridenbecker Young Professional Award recognizes an individual, under the age of 40, who is pursuing excellence in their career. The winner is Katy Vitale.
Small Business of the Year Award
In Business Less Than 5 Years – demonstrates entrepreneurship evidenced by diversification, creativity & imagination. The winner is Prison City Pub & Brewery.
In Business 5+ Years – demonstrates the ability to overcome adversities in the ever-changing business environment and staying power with a commitment to community involvement. The winner is COAST Physical Therapy.
Business Leader Award
We honor businesses that continually invest in Cayuga County & have shown leadership by taking an active role in our community. The winner is Buffalo Wild Wings
Non-Profit of the Year Award
Recognizes a non-profit organization that contributes to the success of our community by enhancing the quality of life or contributing to the economic base of Cayuga County. The winner is Seymour Library.
Community Leadership Award, sponsored by Beardsley Architects + Engineers
This award recognizes a Leadership Cayuga alumnus for their participation in civic organizations and leadership roles in both their organization and in the community. This year Leadership Cayuga celebrates Jenny Haines, Office of Planning and Economic Development, City of Auburn, New York.
